Isabela eating baby food for the 1st time!

Isabela will be turning 6 months in three days and so we thought it was about time she started eating some baby food. We started her on rice cereal in her formula about two weeks ago and she's been doing really good with it. At first we weren't sure how much to give her but when her pediatrician saw her on the 22nd of August he said that we could give her cereal 2-3 feedings a day, about one tablespoon to start out with.


Today we decided to try out some yummy applesauce and she LOVED it!!! At first she wasn't sure if she liked it, she made this face like- yuck- but then after two or three small spoonfuls she couldn't get enough of it!!! Every time she saw the spoon coming close to her she would kind of lunge forward so she could get to it faster, haha :) She also kept trying to grab the bowl and the spoon while I was feeding her, I swear she would try and eat for herself if she could!

Since this is her first time eating from a spoon she looks kind of funny. She keeps sticking her tongue out a little when she's trying to eat and swallow the applesauce so I have to keep the spoon right by her mouth so she doesn't get it all over her chin or her bib. Now I realize why someone invented bibs in the first place...babies are so messy! Anyway, we'll keep her on applesauce for a week or two and then I think we're going to introduce her to mashed bananas, yummm! Next on the list are peas and carrots :)


The funniest part of this whole experience was at the end when she was almost done eating. I assume she got pretty dang full with all the applesauce because she started falling alseep!!! Hil-a-rious!
