ok so yesterday we went to anya's 4 month well baby visit and my dear daughter is now 14 lbs. 8 oz. and 25 in. long!!! i pretty much nailed it regarding her weight, but i was a couple of inches off on her height, oops! no biggie though. the doctor told me that she was in the 75th percentile for weight, height and head circumference! talk about growing uniformly :)
he finished examining her and said that she was perfectly healthy and growing beautifully. he also told me that if we wanted we could go ahead and start her on some solid foods like rice cereal, peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, etc. we didn't start isabela on solids until she was around 6 months, so i'm not sure how i feel about starting anya out on solids this early. of course the doctor told me that we didn't need to if we didn't want to, and to be honest i'd rather wait on this adventure for some other time. i figured since we were so close to moving, that i didn't want to take on this new adventure at this particular time. oh my gosh, did i really just write, "at this particular time"?? i sound like a rep for a celebrity! haha! ok so i digress...back to the topic at hand. jaccob (surprise, surprise!) was all for starting anya on solids. he's always wanting to jump the gun on this subject, he was this eager with isabela too. i personally think starting her on solids next month, once we're settled in with my parents, is a much better idea. so i guess it's decided, no spoon feeding until we're living in TX! sorry babe!!!
other than that topic of conversation that was pretty much it for her doctor's appointment. we headed over to immunizations and i got anya prepared for her shots with a little cocktail of children's tylenol ;) i figured she would dose off not long after we left the clinic, so she would sleep the whole way through my trip to the commissary for some grocery shopping. much to my delight, she did exactly that :) let me tell you, trying to steer a shopping cart with a huge car seat blocking your view, making sure your 2 yr. old toddler is not wandering around solo, and also trying to grab items off shelves is A LOT easier without having to deal with a baby either crying, fussing, or otherwise vying for your undivided attention. i was very lucky that she slept the entire time :)
