anya bear turned 4 months old today. she is such a big girl now! in case you were wondering, bear has become anya's nickname ever since she was a couple of days old :) jaccob actually came up with it and i absolutely LOVE it! it just has a really nice, cute ring to it, don't you think?! as i always say, i'm just amazed at how much older she looks. she is definitely mommy's little chunky monkey ;) she has her 4 month well baby visit this coming monday so i don't have a definite weight and height for her just yet. from my calculations though she should be around 14-15 lbs. and maybe 22 in. we'll see how close i come to her actual stats.

anya is very, very alert these days and she is having a lot of fun discovering new and fun things to do with her time. three days ago she discovered her feet and they are now the coolest new things to play with :) she spends most of her time either sitting up on the couch, in the bumbo, chilling or sleeping in her swing or relaxing on her activity gym. let me tell you, this child is IN LOVE with her tropical surroundings! we'll lay her down on her gym mat and she can stare up at the hanging monkey, parrot and colorful lights forever! the music is very entertaining for her too so she's been known to immerse herself in that world for a whole hour!!! anything that can catch her attention for that long is definitely a keeper ;) she is still talking up a storm and she has now started laughing!! she has the cutest laugh in the world and i could hear her go on all day long :)

it's funny to see her so amused with the activity gym, because when we bought it for isabela, she could care less about it! we kept it out for her a total of two days before we packed it up and put it in the closet. i tried my hardest to get her to like it, but all she did was cry! there was no changing her mind. for some reason or other she did not like it. but as a lot of mothers out there know, what doesn't work with one kid will surprisingly work for another! good thing we kept it and didn't put it up for sale on craigslist.

isabela has become another source of amusement for her and she'll lay on her boppy pillow following isabela around with her eyes. sometimes i'll be feeding her and she'll completely turn her head so that she can see her. isabela likes to walk up to us when we're on the couch and anya will look up at her in complete amazement. it makes me wonder what she must be thinking...

another big development is anya is in the beginning stages of teething!! i couldn't believe that she was starting so early, because isabela didn't start teething until she was about 6 months old. according to babycenter.com babies can start teething at around 4 months so i guess she is right on track. i just really hope that she has a good teething experience like isabela had! i never even realized isabela was teething until one day when i was taking pictures of her. i noticed when i was reviewing pictures on my camera that there was this white spot in her once all pink, gummy smile. i didn't know what it was until i reached over and looked in her mouth, she had already cut her two center bottom teeth!! with anya i've noticed a lot of drooling and putting her fists in her mouth...poor thing she is in desperate need of a little chew toy ;) time to bust out some teethers!!! i can't wait until i can finally see some pearly whites in her already beautiful smile :) she's going to look even more adorable than she does now! is that even possible?! i think not!

last, but not least, anya is half way to rolling onto her stomach! since she spends a lot of time on her activity gym she's had a lot of practice squirming from left to right and as a result, a couple of days ago she began to turn onto her sides. i can lay her down in one position and the next thing i know she's turned a complete 180!!! she is very busy these days people! she's got lots of places to go ;) make sure and keep out of her way! if not, one of these days she's just going to roll all over you!!! haha :)

what can i say guys? my little anya is just beautiful and mommy loves her so so much! she brings that extra little brightness to my day and i can't imagine my life without her :)
