memories of breastfeeding???

11.18.2010

it might just be me (and my long lost longing to have breastfed anya til she was at least 6 months old), but i could swear that anya was having flashbacks of when she would breastfeed while i was trying to soothe her to sleep tonight.

i guess let me preface this by saying that anya has been sick with a cold (or something else that's given isabela and her a horrible cough, fever, and runny noses) for the past couple of days. she is not feeling herself and is quite fussy sometimes. of course when she's sick she tends to be a little bit more cuddly than normal, which is the only positive side effect of this whole ordeal.

after a hard day of not feeling good it was finally time for her to say goodnight. as we were in her room, sitting down in the glider chair (which i am still absolutely in LOVE with!), we were rocking back and forth to her sleepy time cd and she began to nuzzle her way down to my chest...before i knew it, she was snuggling up to my breast and started making the motions with her mouth as if she was breastfeeding!!!! i was like, "oh my god. is she really doing what i think she's doing?!" could it be that she's really reliving memories of when she would breastfeed??

it's been 7 months since she last breastfed. if she was really having those memories, that's pretty neat! the brain is really a remarkable thing!!! don't you agree?!

once upon a time...

i started this blog as a way of keeping in touch with family and friends. we moved to guam right after our wedding, so i needed a creative medium in which to share our new life together as newlyweds. as our lives began to change so did our family dynamic! our first addition to the family was our furry baby, kensy, an adorable german shepherd. then our greatest dreams came true when God blessed us with our daughters isabela and anya. almost 7 years later this blog now chronicles our lives as parents and also our kid's lives in both stories and pictures.
