my baby is going, going...GONE!!!

11.24.2010

anya has officially begun crawling as of sunday and now she's on the move like there is no tomorrow! she is on the go, go, go and getting into everything!!! there is no denying that i no longer have a tiny, little defenseless baby- i have a "in your face", independent, strong willed crawler!

i was just thinking to myself how much anya has grown even within these last couple of months and just like with isabela, it still blows my mind. how do they become so smart? how do they go from laying there like a rock and the next minute rolling over, sitting down, then getting on their hands and knees and dragging themselves on the floor? i guess it's just all instinctual...programmed into them like nature intended :) we human beings really are remarkable "creatures"! haha!!!

anyway, back to my anya :) this girl is definitely not like her sister! comparing isabela and anya at this age, they are quite the opposites. at first their differences were a little scary to me, like i expected for them to be relatively the same at 9 months of life, but that's not the case. even at this early age, i can already see anya's personality emerging quite different than isabelas. not that one is better than the other, just different. like i said before, it was a little scary to me. maybe scary isn't the word i'm looking for, maybe it's something more like startling. the matter of the fact is that they have their own distinct personalities, and that's ok.--- isabela is quiet natured, a little shy, very cuddly, and a little bit more attached to me. anya is more outgoing, rambunctious, cuddles only when she's feeling bad/sick, and very independent.

anya started pulling up to standing as of monday and it wouldn't surprise me to see her walking way before isabela ever did. isabela didn't start taking her first steps until she was 15 months old, but anya will hopefully be walking by her first birthday! i guess "talk" to me again in 3 months and we shall see!!! as for everything else, anya is becoming very vocal. she now says, baba, mama, and dada. she still doesn't know i'm mama and jaccob dada, but at least she's getting there.

eating wise, anya still isn't a fan of much. she likes sweet potatoes and mangos and possibly some carrots, but she doesn't like squash, peas, applesauce or any kind of cereal. she did like eating these gerber banana cookies for awhile, but it seems she's outgrown that phase now. i've tried giving her bananas, some cooked pasta, pinto beans, avocado, and some other 9 month baby friendly foods and she hasn't quite developed a palate for those either. oh well, i guess we'll just have to focus on getting her her recommended amounts of formula to make up for what she's not getting with solid food. in this respect it's easy to see the difference between the two girls, isabela from the moment she began eating solid foods there was no stopping her, she liked and ate EVERYTHING!

weight wise i'm not sure how much anya or isabela weighs. i've been really bad at keeping up with these stats ever since anya was born. i feel bad for not documenting anya's life the way i did when it was only isabela, but to be honest i've been slacking with documenting isabela's life as well. i guess it's just been put on the back burner with chasing around two kids...who can blame me right?!

that's pretty much all i've got time for right now. next time i'll try posting a little bit about isabela and how she's doing in "school" and how much she's grown both physically and developmentally. let's just say that she's grown up quite remarkably :) just you wait and see!!

once upon a time...

i started this blog as a way of keeping in touch with family and friends. we moved to guam right after our wedding, so i needed a creative medium in which to share our new life together as newlyweds. as our lives began to change so did our family dynamic! our first addition to the family was our furry baby, kensy, an adorable german shepherd. then our greatest dreams came true when God blessed us with our daughters isabela and anya. almost 7 years later this blog now chronicles our lives as parents and also our kid's lives in both stories and pictures.
