first cold :(

yesterday was isabela's day to go to school, but lo and behold she was sick so i decided to keep her home to avoid spreading the cold to the other kids. i assume it is a cold, because she had a runny nose, a little nose/chest congestion and some coughing.

besides her, nobody else had those symptoms so i thought we were in the clear...until last night as i was watching anya on the baby monitor and saw her tossing and turning and what looked like gasping for air. i kind of freaked out not knowing what was wrong with her until i went into the room to pick her up. there it was. nose congestion and the same little wheezy noise coming from her just like isabela. she was so congested that she kept waking up not being able to breath from her nose. my poor baby. anya's first cold :(

like i normally did with isabela when she was a couple of months old, i spent the night in the room with her. my mom slept with isabela so she wouldn't be alone and freak out if she woke up. i put baby vick's under her nose and a little on her chest to make her sleep better, but i don't know if it did much good. i tried to sleep with anya laying on my chest, but after awhile we both started getting sweaty and hot. i tried countless ways to get her comfortable, but nothing seemed to work. needless to say i didn't get a lot of sleep and the very little i did get, was very uncomfortable.

all of today she has seemed o.k. except a little tired. she's had a runny nose and a slight fever but she's kept her spirits up :) i just hope she does a little better tonight, and that both of us will be able to get some rest.
