isabela turns 2!

before i start i guess i should preface this by saying that i should have posted this sooner. so bear with me as i backtrack a little. i will post all about isabela turning 2 first and then i'll post about my first day alone as a mother of two :) so here goes nothing...

isabela turned 2 yrs. old on march 8th, but we didn't have her birthday party until saturday, march 13th. this years theme...hello kitty :) i had originally wanted to do minnie mouse, because she is a HUGE fan of mickey mouse clubhouse on the disney channel, but party city didn't carry the huge selection that their website does :( boo! so i had to choose the 2nd runner up!! i must say that i think everything turned out adorable
! lots of pink, purple, and aqua! we were supposed to have cloudy skies the whole day (it had been raining for like 2-3 days already), but fortunately for us, the sun came out :) all of our friends were able to come and help celebrate her 2nd birthday except two, our friends jenny and kristi. they each of course had their own reasons for not being able to come, but they were definitely here in spirit! just like last year there were plenty of babies to go around ;) it was so cute to see so many of isabela's friends here, she's one lucky girl! thanks again for everyone who came out to make her day so special!!!

mommy's first day!

after my mom left back to san antonio, jaccob went on baby leave for a week. i was really happy to have jaccob stay home with me while i adjusted not having my mom here to help me out with the girls. we pretty much stayed at home during that time and just enjoyed each others company :) jaccob took over a night feeding for me so that i could get some extra sleep and boy was it much appreciated!! it's moments like these when i feel truly lucky to have a husband like him, but i will spare you on all my gushy feelings about that!

so anyway, jaccob's time off from work came to an end all too quickly and it was time to see what i was really made of! surprisingly the girls both woke up around the same time and we headed downstairs to watch some playhouse disney. i gave isabela her sippy cup with milk and turned on the t.v...lucky for me, isabela is easily entertained with her favorite shows (little einsteins, mickey mouse clubhouse, and jungle junction), so that part wasn't too difficult.

now it was anya's turn! when we got downstairs i had placed her in the bouncer seat my parents had bought her, while i got isabela all settled down. when i walked over to her she was just looking around and smiling :) she hadn't even made a peep!

so i fed her a little bit and before i knew it, she was fast asleep in my arms! i put her back in the bouncer seat and she was out for the next two hours!! with isabela already entertained and anya sleeping away, i was able to get in some cleaning :) when i finished it was time to feed anya again and make isabela some lunch. you can imagine my surprise when jaccob walked through the door and it was already 2:00 p.m.!!! i hadn't even realized how fast the time had flown by, then again i had kept myself pretty occupied.
i felt so happy and relieved that i could do this! i could take care of both my girls and not break out into tears or pull my hair out ;) i had kind of been really scared that i wouldn't be able to handle it, but thankfully i was able. it's like my mom had always said, once i got into a routine with them i would be fine, and just like she had predicted, i was.

once upon a time...

i started this blog as a way of keeping in touch with family and friends. we moved to guam right after our wedding, so i needed a creative medium in which to share our new life together as newlyweds. as our lives began to change so did our family dynamic! our first addition to the family was our furry baby, kensy, an adorable german shepherd. then our greatest dreams came true when God blessed us with our daughters isabela and anya. almost 7 years later this blog now chronicles our lives as parents and also our kid's lives in both stories and pictures.
