a rockin trick or treat!
as y'all might have noticed, i'm usually not one to blog when i'm on vacation so i tend to get a little behind on blogging about events or holidays or just random things that happen in our daily lives...so that being said, here is a recap of isabela's very first trick or treating experience!
to be honest, i really wasn't going to celebrate halloween this year. i didn't want to go through a repeat of isabela's first halloween last year, it was horrible! since i didn't do a post of last year's halloween fiasco, here you go...cue in wavy lines and fade to the past...
i dressed isabela up as a baby chick the day before halloween so that i could see that the costume fit her and to get a couple of snapshots of her looking adorable in her costume, which i did! she looked absolutely precious and i got a couple of cute pictures of her. i also managed to take a couple of pictures of her in some halloween outifts where she is actually smiling :)

well come halloween night, we went over to our friend charity's house for her halloween party and well, let's just say that we should've just stayed home. the party started at 8 p.m. (which is normally her bedtime) and jaccob and i were getting ready at her house. everything seemed to be going well until i started to try and put isabela's costume on her...wrong idea! she started crying like crazy and i tried to calm her down while still trying to put the costume on...jaccob got upset because she was crying and that is the number one thing he can't stand. to make things worse, she really hadn't had a nap that day so she was extra fussy and irritable. all i wanted was to get her dressed up so that we could take a picture of the three of us dressed up for halloween. i should've just dropped the whole idea, but being that it was isabela's first halloween i wanted it to go exactly as i had planned it out in my head...anybody that has kids can tell you that sometimes what you want to happen and what actually happens are two different things and it usually ends with you not winning :/ oh well, such is life.
so anyway, as you can imagine i didn't want a similar situation happening again so i decided not to celebrate halloween this year. well since i was in san antonio both my dad and my sister insisted and insisted that we just had to celebrate isabela's very first trick or treating, so they managed to twist my arm! my mom and i went to babies-r-us one day and found that the few costumes they had left were on sale from like $25 to $8!!! how could i resist NOT buying a costume on sale?! i found the cutest costume ever...an electric guitar!!!!! the thought of seeing isabela dressed up as an electric guitar made me crack up! isabela sure didn't disappoint!!! she looked hilarious!
halloween night my dad and i took isabela trick or treating along with our neighbor gerard and his daughter alayna (my mom used to babysit her when she was a baby). we only went up and down the street we live on but we managed to stop by at least eleven houses :) isabela had a blast and everyone that saw her thought she was the cutest little thing! isabela's favorite part was being able to pick out the candy she wanted and put it in her pumpkin trick or treating bag. i must say that we did wind up having a lot of fun that night and took a lot of pictures to prove it!!!
