isabela's first hockey game!
well it was actually mine too, but i figured it would be cuter to title it isabela's first hockey game! anyway, while we were visiting in san antonio this last time my dad came home from work one afternoon and told us we were going to go see a hockey game (at work he had been given 4 tickets to go see the san antonio rampage vs. the texas stars). i'd never been to a hockey game in my life so i had no idea what to expect. i knew the game didn't start until 7 p.m. so i was hoping isabela wouldn't get fussy during our outing. luck just happened to be on our side though because during the whole ride there, during the game, and on the ride back home, isabela never made a peep! in fact, she was completely taken aback and thrilled by the whole experience :) she was very intrigued by everything going on on the ice and would even start clapping when it was time to cheer the team on!

during half time my mom and i went to the concession stand to pick up some snacks to munch on and when we got back to our seats, isabela couldn't get enough of the yummy popcorn i had gotten in the combo. she absolutely loved it! i tried to distract her with some animal crackers, but she knew what the good stuff was, haha! she is nobody's fool and wouldn't take anything less ;) for those of you who've never actually met isabela yet you've never been exposed to her level of awareness and right down smarts...she definitely takes after her dad in that sense...he is an engineer after all! no but seriously, isabela is very smart and she knows a good thing when she sees it. for example, when she was born and throughout her first months of life she never took to a pacifier. it's like she knew it wasn't the real deal and so she refused to take to it. she figured there wasn't any milk coming out of it so what was the point! like i said, really smart :)
anyway, going back to the game, my dad, was the cutest ever! from the first moment we sat down he wanted nothing more than to have his picture taken with isabela on his iPhone :) he held isabela for a big part of the game and whenever the crowd started cheering the team on, he would yell back, "let's go rampage, let's go!" while clapping at the same time...isabela of course loved it and started laughing and laughing. she sure does love her abuelito!!! he was overjoyed having isabela there and you could see the proud look on his face, knowing he was the one responsible for taking isabela to the very first athletic event of her life!!! we had a great time out that night, even though our team lost 3-0, but it was the time the 4 of us spent together that made it oh so memorable <3
