she got tangled!
3.6.2011
today isabela had her very first movie going experience! she's been really into movies for some months now (she loves Disney movies! but then again, what child doesn't?!) and so jaccob and i decided that today was the day for her to go to an actual movie theater and watch a movie. when we started thinking of what movie to go watch, the answer was crystal clear...TANGLED!!! not only is it a Disney movie, but it has a PRINCESS!!! we couldn't have asked for a better movie!
at first, you could tell she was kind of nervous, like she didn't know what we were doing there and with so many people around her. not to mention, it was a little dark, and therefore a tiny bit scary for an almost three year old. she refused to sit in her own seat and had daddy hold her the whole movie, but once the movie started, you could tell she was really enjoying herself :) occasionally throughout the movie i would look over at her and see what her expression was. of course she was all smiles for the most part, except if there was a scary or sad part of the movie. it's quite incredible to see her react to movies the way everyone else does...just a normal part of growing up.
to be honest, it makes me a little sad. i love the person she is and who she's becoming, and how big she is and all that she's able to accomplish, but i can't help but think of how much she's changing before my eyes. two days shy of her 3rd birthday, and i can't believe (like it should be so astonishing) that three years have passed since she was born...i see pictures of her when she was a baby and i smile and think of how tiny she once was. she's changed so much and yet in so many ways she's remained the same in my eyes.
but anyway, enough of that. i'm so glad that she loved her first movie going experience, complete with popcorn, soda and candy! i mean come on, a movie just isn't a movie without all the goodies (overpriced as they may be) to go with it!!! she loved it and that's all that matters :) i think we might just have to make this a once a month kind of tradition! uh huh, i think so!
