isabela's "schooling"
3.10.2011
for those of you with little ones (at least one year of age) i HIGHLY recommend getting them into "school". i say school in " " because it's technically not a school, it's a preschool program that gives young children an outlet in which to socialize, be creative, develop skills, and promote a healthy, positive self-esteem.
isabela has been attending our church's kids day out program since september of last year. i am completely amazed and BLOWN AWAY at how much she has grown since then. she is so much more outgoing, confident, and independent. also, for me the greatest accomplishment would have to be her language development. when she started she barely put two words together and her vocabulary was very limited. now in just 7 months she is talking in full sentences and surprises me with new words or phrases every day :)
isabela has only one more day of school left here at our church before we move down to houston. her teachers, ms. connie and ms. betty, gave me a small photo album with pictures of isabela and her class during major events of the school year: halloween, thansgiving, christmas, fireman's visit, police visit, spurs day, cowboy breakfast, and valentines day. i hadn't seen the pictures until today and i was so happy to have received it! what a cute memento to have of her first year in school!!! it also includes the names of every kid in her class along with her teachers names. so precious! i will treasure it always...
i contacted the new church we'll be attending in houston and i was ecstatic to get her enrolled in their preschool program! the good part is that she'll be able to finish out the school year before summer vacation, and then get to register for next year. the director i spoke with was super nice and very accommodating. a good sign, i think. i'm excited for her to continue on with her learning and look forward to see how much she continues to grow and shine!
