all good things come...

to those who wait :) definitely a hard thing for someone as impatient as me! i have to admit that i am one of those parents who really likes guidelines/charts and seeing that my child hits major milestones when it comes to her development. i'm not gonna lie, it worried me that isabela wasn't walking yet at 15 months...but like i posted a couple of days ago, she completely caught us by surprise and started taking her first steps! and now, well lets just say that she's not sitting still for anything or anyone, it's like she has ants in her pants ;) i know, i know, 15 months is within the "normal" range for toddlers to start walking but i couldn't help but feel like she was behind. well, no worries! isabela is now on her way to becoming a little bit more independent and there is no stopping her!

this last week was the start of many news things with isabela. she finally decided she would drink something other than milk!!! jaccob and i had tried for a couple of months now to get her to drink water, juice, water with juice, juice with a little bit of water and nothing! she always shook her head no or pressed her lips together, a sure sign that she was just not interested. for some reason something in me this week thought, "hmmm, maybe i should try a capri sun, maybe she'll like the cool pouch and the straw (she loves to drink out of straws just like me!)" so i bought a case of the splash cooler and voila! instant hit! we've also tried these little crystal light packets in peach or red tea flavors and she likes them too! our daughter is officially a juice drinker :) yes!!!

as if all of this was not enough, isabela never ceases to amaze us...last night as jaccob and i were watching t.v. in the living room, isabela was finishing up her last bottle. well when she was finished with it she walked right over to the coffee table and set the bottle down on a coaster!!! i looked over at jaccob and he looked at me and we just laughed :) haha! she is so smart! she also knows that remotes are for changing channels (she always aims toward the t.v.) and that the phone is used for talking with people. she'll grab the phone or one of our cells and puts it up to her ear. she loves to press all the buttons and babble on and on! i love watching her discover new things! she now knows where her head and toes are!


she has this little toy puppy she got for her 1st birthday which sings songs, and one of her favorites is head, shoulders, knees and toes. she'll press the paw over and over until that song comes on. so cute! it sure does make me proud as a mother to see her learn like that!
