something so cute and funny happened this morning that i just had to come post it on the blog :)
first, a little back history on our "baby monitor".
over a year ago (can it be that it's already been that long?) while i was living back in san antonio with just the girls and jaccob was finishing his time up in norfolk, i decided to buy a really nice baby video monitor. well, i wanted a really good one that had a handheld monitor so i could walk around with it, so i bought a fairly well rated one on amazon. mind you i don't remember which one it was, but suffice to say that it was a piece of crap. sorry to be so blunt, but it was. it had horrible reception. every single time my mom turned on the microwave or the phone rang, this thing started getting all static-y. that's a word right? anyway, i immediately returned it and got my money back. i was getting frustrated because i didn't think there was anything out there that would let me monitor my baby anya (who was still only 7-8 months old) and isabela with a clear, crisp, no interruption, static-free picture. my dad, being the super intelligent man that he is, and computer savvy on top of that, did some research for me and saved the day - as all dads do- and presented me with this:
he showed me a video of this bad boy in action and i was blown away! this thing can seriously move around like it says it can. i can see anya in her crib and then zoom over to isabela on the opposite side of the room! brilliant.
it doesn't have a handheld monitor like i was wanting, but i gave that up easily, just to be able to enjoy all the other perks it has. no static. no interruption. just a perfect, clear image that i can access from any computer! BUT THEN...to my amazement, i was able to download the app for the program on my iPhone and now i CAN actually use it like a handheld monitor!!!! isn't that genius?! i can be sitting outside on my porch or jaccob and i can be out on date night and with a tap on my phone i can access the camera and see/hear my sleeping girls right on my phone! i tell you, bril-li-ant!
i've never had a problem with it and the extra nice thing about it is that my parents in san antonio can see them and jaccob's parents can see them in tennessee :) a great way for the grandparents to see their girls miles and miles away. it's the best $200 i ever spent!
SOOOOOOOOO, now on to this super cute and funny thing that happened this morning!
we heard anya was awake on the monitor so jaccob went upstairs to get her and brought her downstairs to me. we were hanging out for a little bit when i heard isabela moving around in her bed. the next thing i know this is what i hear on the monitor:
isabela: "oh no baby! (talking to her baby doll) i don't see anya. where could she be?"
silence.
isabela: "oh, i know! she's downstairs. let's go see her."
ohhhh, i just about died! how adorable is that?!?! she is so cute. i love how worried she was about not seeing anya in her crib. i just love that girl to pieces!!!
***i had already finished this post when isabela had another cute moment that i had to share with y'all...
isabela came up to me today after getting dressed and said to me, "look momma! i put on my lips!" haha! i laughed out loud! she had just put some lip gloss on all by herself and had to show me :) again, one of the many, many reasons why i love being a mom!
