miss potty princess!

o.k. i'm back from my three day hiatus ;) so grab your cup of coffee, sit down and hold onto your {potty} seat! HAHA!
if you read my previous post you'd know that for the past three days i had cleared my schedule in order to potty train isabela.
so now the verdict is in...
IT WORKED!!!
the 3 day potty training method really worked! i am still in disbelief, but here we are on tuesday and isabela is still diaper free :)
i was skeptical to try this method, although i had read an amazing story about this working out for countless number of kids. in case any of you are curious to know how i came across this incredible potty training method check out this blog post from a chick called kirby. i don't personally know her, but she went to a&m and i happened upon her one day on FB and saw she had a blog just like me. (o.k. so maybe a little stalkerish, but she's a fellow aggie, so i think it's o.k.! haha! besides we did message back and forth about our weddings, we got married a couple of days apart the same year.)
i'd been wanting to potty train isabela for some time now, but i assumed it was going to be a long and hard process and i didn't really want to bother with it just yet. turns out it didn't need to be this long, drawn out process like i thought it would be.
i've heard horror stories from other moms who have been trying for months with no success, and i so did not want to be in their shoes.
lucky for me i didn't have to be!!! check it out people, you won't regret it. (sorry if i sound like an infomercial, but i really believe it works and i have isabela to prove it!)
just as a side note: part of the method is rewarding her with some sort of incentive, whether it be toys, candy, stickers or whatever. i decided to go with the stickers and so every time she successfully went potty we would run to the kitchen and she would place a smiley face on her potty training chart. she would squeal with glee every time she put a sticker on the chart and i think it really helped her want to go like a big girl :)
so here is isabela's potty training story in full detail:
day 1-
also known as THE most FRUSTRATING day of my life!!!!!!!!!!!!! i was seriously tested this day and it showed, luckily though not in front of isabela.
i started following the method early saturday morning and by noon i was already exhausted! i had to be behind her, everywhere, NONstop, all day and night!!! i had repeated, "tell mommy when you want to go potty o.k. isabela?" like a thousand times and i was losing patience after her 10th accident...
my parents told me over and over again that i had to be patient, because it wasn't easy to potty train, but i didn't really realize how much patience i actually needed. basically i needed patience times a billion trillion. a whole freakin lot! i would take her to the potty whenever she had an accident and explain to her to tell me when she needed to go potty and that she needed to come to the bathroom to sit on the potty and go, not out "there", pointing to the living room/dining room.
she wouldn't go potty so we walked back to the couch and not even a minute later she had squatted on the floor and gone pee!!!!! i was like, "what the "h, e, double l hockey sticks"!" i couldn't believe it. we had just been in the bathroom, on the potty no less and here she was going on the carpet. i was beyond myself.
i really doubted myself and if she and i could really do this...by the end of the day i was completely drained and so down on myself and the belief that this method was going to work.

nighttime: dry ALL night long! YES!!!
day 2-
i woke isabela up around 6:30 a.m. to see if she needed to potty...she did. yay isabela! i was so proud of her :) today was definitely coming along much better than the previous day. thank God! she had a couple of accidents in the morning, but she was beginning to go potty when i sat her down to go (right after she had had the accident).
i had gotten some special prizes for her in case she ever went by herself or if she came up to any of us saying she had to go and then actually go in the potty. while i was out at target buying her the disney princess soft potty seat, my mom called.
she had taken my place while i was gone. she told me that isabela had gone up to her and told her she needed to potty and that she had gone on the potty like a big girl!!! i was so freaking happy :) she had done it!
when i got home i gave her this my little pony figurine and she loved it! i told her i was so proud of her and that she deserved a special treat for being such a good girl.
she then happened to surprise me a little later on by going ALL BY HERSELF! i was changing anya's diaper and noticed that she had gone into the bathroom. she stepped up on her step stool, sat down and went pee pee all by herself. i went in there and praised her like crazy! "way to go big girl!!!" i told her.
pretty much the rest of the day she would come up to us when she needed to go potty and she would hold it til we got to the potty :) i was beyond ecstatic and couldn't believe that she was actually starting to "get it". i went to bed feeling really relieved.

nighttime: dry ALL night long!
day 3-
isabela woke up and went potty on the potty :) good job! another great start to the morning! isabela was a real pro today and kept telling us when she needed to use the potty. from her stats the previous day you can see for yourself that today she wasn't coming up to us every 15 MINUTES telling us she needed to go. going pee 21 times in a day is a lot of peeing!!! LOL!
needless to say she still had an accident here and there, but for the majority of the time she was giving us the heads up. we had a great labor day and did a lot of relaxing. isabela got another big treat for going poo poo in the potty and well the rest of the day was history!

so to recap, i am amazed that it worked and i highly recommend the 3 day potty training to any parents out there!
to quote kirby..."could it be? that all that the little princess needed was her throne?" haha!!! i love it!!!
