14 months already?

i am so not ready to admit that my daughter is a toddler!! 14 months, really? she is definitely not a little baby anymore, she is a little person :) and boy does she have the attitude to prove it! isabela is not a big fan of the word no and it's incredible that even at this age she is "talking" back! haha! i didn't think this would be coming for at least another couple of years but it begins...great. can't we just put this stage on hold until she is in her teenage years and this kind of behavior is to be expected?

she has also gotten very good at pointing her finger at you when you are disciplining her and i have to try so hard not to laugh!! i don't want her thinking that it's a game but it's hard to look at her face and not laugh. i have to look away or cover my face so she doesn't see me. even jaccob is having a hard time keeping from laughing! you should see the two of us, just a couple of ding dongs.

anyway, isabela still isn't walking but she is almost there. i think that it's not that she doesn't know how to walk, it's that she decides not too. for her it is so easy to be mobile on her hands and knees that she doesn't want to bother. leave it to her to move at her own pace! she likes to do things her own way, as her daddy reminds me all the time ;) he's a big fan of this line, "i'm 13 jerry, i do what i want!" for those of you who don't know it's a line from the jerry springer show! that's just how classy my hubby is! but anyway, i digress...

isabela has also become very independent in some ways. she can now get off the couch by herself and to my surprise and amazement she can get off our bed by herself!! i was getting ready in the bathroom and i left isabela watching elmo's world on the bed and the next thing i knew she was crawling towards me! i was like, "what the heck!" suffice to say that now i have to close the door so that she doesn't crawl out of our room and to the stairs.

she is so smart!

i wonder what the next two months have in store! if it's anything like these last two we better hold onto our seats!!

once upon a time...

i started this blog as a way of keeping in touch with family and friends. we moved to guam right after our wedding, so i needed a creative medium in which to share our new life together as newlyweds. as our lives began to change so did our family dynamic! our first addition to the family was our furry baby, kensy, an adorable german shepherd. then our greatest dreams came true when God blessed us with our daughters isabela and anya. almost 7 years later this blog now chronicles our lives as parents and also our kid's lives in both stories and pictures.
