"9" month check up

today isabela had her 9 month well baby visit although she is technically almost 11 months. since we were in texas for the holidays we had to postpone her appointment until now.

here are her stats:

weight: 22 lbs.
height: 29.5 in.

she is doing great and growing up so fast! she still isn't walking but she is getting there! just last night as jaccob and i were watching t.v. we noticed she was standing up! she had gotten up all on her own, well with the help of the side railing of the pack n' play :) the doctor said that first comes standing up on her own and then shortly after, walking. we bought her a walker a couple of weeks ago and she likes it :) at first she moved backwards and sideways but the other day she started moving foward! part of me is really excited to see isabela take her first steps and the other part of me is terrified! once she becomes independently mobile there is no helping us ;) she's going to be getting into everything and mommy will be even more nervous of her falling down and hurting herself :( oh well, i know it happens and there is no avoiding it so i should just get over it. welcome to mommyhood right?!?

in these past few weeks isabela has been extra fussy, much to our liking, but we think it's because she is teething and the top teeth hurt more coming out. one has already broken through the gum line but there isn't any sight of the second one. it's quite a change to see her struggle with the teething process since we didn't even notice any change in her when her bottom two came in. we'll see how she deals with the rest of them...fun times.

she's starting to understand a lot more too. she definitely understands the word "no". she's not a big fan of me telling her no whenever she's trying to grab something she's not supposed to. she also kind of understand when i ask her, "where is kensy?", she'll look around until she sees her :) it's very cute!

once upon a time...

i started this blog as a way of keeping in touch with family and friends. we moved to guam right after our wedding, so i needed a creative medium in which to share our new life together as newlyweds. as our lives began to change so did our family dynamic! our first addition to the family was our furry baby, kensy, an adorable german shepherd. then our greatest dreams came true when God blessed us with our daughters isabela and anya. almost 7 years later this blog now chronicles our lives as parents and also our kid's lives in both stories and pictures.
