here i am!

2.24.2011

wow, where have i been?! i feel so detached from my blog and the whole blogging world. in my defense though, things around here (and there) have been really crazy. first of all, my anya bear is now officially a walker!!! she looks absolutely cute doing it too. seriously. one of the cutest things. EVER.

other big news is that the kologinczak family is moving to HOUSTON, TX!!! spring, tx to be exact. my extremely intelligent and talented hubby got a job as a project engineer for a company called praxair. he's going to be working with hydrogen plants. that's pretty much all i got on that ;) haha! anyway, he's so excited with his new job and i couldn't be more proud of him! he's worked so hard to get to where he is in his career and i truly feel like he's found his place.

we knew his start date was going to be february 14th so the girls and i decided to follow him to the woodlands to start the house hunting process. we got into contact with a family friend of the kologinczaks, cindi miller, and she was beyond awesome!!! she was so nice and helpful and really made this whole process pain free.

we saw a couple of houses, three of which we really liked, and one of them which was my dream house! i totally fell in love with it and it was the one house that actually felt like home. unfortunately for us we found out that same day we saw it that someone had already made an offer :( boo. i was so sad and so discouraged. it was everything we had been looking for...the perfect design, the perfect price, and the perfect location. i really didn't think i would find anything that i truly loved, at least not for a while any way, and i didn't feel like those other two houses we liked felt like 'the one'.

lucky for us, our realtor received a phone call a day or two later saying that there was a house under construction that had everything we were looking for. i went to go see it (without jaccob because he was at work) and fell in love!!! it's a two story, 4 bedroom/2.5 bath, 3 car garage with a gameroom upstairs, master bedroom downstairs, formal dining room, and large backyard. we put in an offer and it was accepted on the first try! so exciting! now we're getting the ball rolling on the loan process and hopefully if all goes well and smoothly we should close by march 31st, which is the date they have for the completion of the house.

now we wait. jaccob is working in houston and the girls and i are back in san antonio with my parents. i'm happy to be back 'home' with them, but i'm sad to know that we'll be leaving them before we know it. i so wish we could have settled down here in san antonio, but it just wasn't meant to be. i am really happy to be moving on and starting our new life as civilians. i'm especially even more happy to own my very first home :) a house that jaccob and i actually OWN, not one that we rent from somebody else. can't wait to move in and have my own space again. oh and the girls room(s), don't EVEN get me started!!! :) ECSTATIC BEYOND WORDS!!!!!!!!

so i think that about covers everything. isabela is still going to her 'school' and loving it. i feel so sad that she's going to have to say goodbye to her teachers and classmates. she's opened up so much in these couple of months and i owe a huge part of that to the KDO program. i know i'm definitely going to enroll her in a program like this in houston, so not all is lost, but she's going to have to get used to a whole other bunch of people and i hate for her to have to go through this change. i guess she'll have to get used to major change sometime.

one more update before i go. the girls just got over a really bad cold today and i couldn't be more relieved. i thought it was hard enough taking care of just one sick kid much less two sick kids. anya was sick first, complete with fever and vomiting. it was bad. poor thing was just so miserable and she had some serious fevers going on. to make matters worse, isabela became ill, displaying the same fever and vomiting that anya had. so here i was with two sick girls. great. definitely not something i wanted to deal with, but a mother's job never ends so i tended to them the best way i knew how. it seemed to have lasted 4-5 days and i must say that i hope we don't have a recurrence anytime soon. keep your fingers crossed for me.

well, this time i mean it when i say, "that's all i got for right now." i'll do my best to update the blog more often and not let another huge gap happen in between posts. i hope y'all have a great TGIF and an amazing weekend!!! toodles :)

once upon a time...

i started this blog as a way of keeping in touch with family and friends. we moved to guam right after our wedding, so i needed a creative medium in which to share our new life together as newlyweds. as our lives began to change so did our family dynamic! our first addition to the family was our furry baby, kensy, an adorable german shepherd. then our greatest dreams came true when God blessed us with our daughters isabela and anya. almost 7 years later this blog now chronicles our lives as parents and also our kid's lives in both stories and pictures.
