my baby anya is coming!!!

i can scarcely believe that in two short days i will finally get to meet my baby girl anya!!! as of today i am 39 weeks and 3 days :) i had my 39 week appt. on friday and anya's heart rate sounded nice and strong at around 150 bpm! the doctor examined me and told me that i hadn't even started progressing yet (already one week shy of my due date). i asked her about anya's weight and was told that she was already 8 and a half or 9 lbs.!!!

my doctor and i started discussing the possibility of me going into labor on my own and after telling her isabela's birth story she told me that in her opinion i would end up having another c-section.
i had really wanted to try and deliver anya naturally (with epidural of course) but with her size and my past history it looked like it wasn't meant to be. i was told to go home and discuss it with jaccob and that if it was what we wanted i could go ahead and call in to have the c-section scheduled. after some talking we both decided the c-section would be the way to go. one of the concerns i had was how many kids we would be able to have with a repeat c-section for the second time and my doctor told me that we could have the three or four we were wanting...well that answers that!

so here i am writing this, hoping and praying that God watch over us as we prepare for anya's birthday on wednesday!!! i have my pre-op appt. tomorrow morning at the portsmouth naval hospital (where i will be giving birth) to go over the schedule of events for my c-section. i can't help but be a little anxious and nervous, after all i am going to have major surgery, but i know that all will turn out in the end, God willing :) i just wonder how my recovery will be this time around...hopefully i won't have a postpartum hemorrhage or develop a fever after the surgery like i did with isabela. cross your fingers! i'm just so grateful to God that jaccob will be there with/for me!!! he'll give me such comfort just by being by my side. since he wasn't able to be there for isabela's birth i can't even imagine how he's going to react! i'll be able to see his face the first time he sees our daughter and i'll get to experience having my husband and father of my child loving me and watching me bring our anya into this world...it's going to be wonderful!

isabela will be hanging out with her abuelita so she'll be well taken care of :) my dad arrives this saturday and i can't wait for him to get here! if all works out, we should be back home with our precious anya by the time he gets here. i guess that's it for now...next time i post on here i'll have pictures of anya's BIRTH DAY!!!!!!!! wish me luck ;)

oh, before i go, here are some pics i took of isabela today (monday, feb. 1st)...she's going to be a BIG sister really really soon so i thought it would only be fitting to capture her being a big girl in one of her favorite shirts :) take a look for yourself. she's going to be one amazing big sister!!!

once upon a time...

i started this blog as a way of keeping in touch with family and friends. we moved to guam right after our wedding, so i needed a creative medium in which to share our new life together as newlyweds. as our lives began to change so did our family dynamic! our first addition to the family was our furry baby, kensy, an adorable german shepherd. then our greatest dreams came true when God blessed us with our daughters isabela and anya. almost 7 years later this blog now chronicles our lives as parents and also our kid's lives in both stories and pictures.
